
As President of Sperry Van Ness, Kevin Maggiacamo oversees the company’s expansion throughout the United States. In the span of six years, he has helped to grow Sperry Van Ness from seven offices to more than 150 today. A proven sales and marketing trainer for Sperry Van Ness Advisors, Maggiacamo is a frequent presenter at the company’s business development training sessions. With more than 12 years of commercial real estate experience, Maggiacomo is a former Sperry Van Ness Regional Director in the Eastern and Central regions of the country. In addition, he has served as National Director of the firm’s Hospitality Team. Maggiacomo earned a B.A. from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.
Grant Edwards formed and currently directs the Healthcare Real Estate Team, a Sperry Van Ness specialty brokerage division dedicated exclusively to representing owners and investors in the sale of seniors housing, long-term care, and medical office properties throughout the United States. His primary area of expertise consists of analyzing and confidentially marketing nursing home and assisted living assets, utilizing a proprietary database with thousands of prospective Buyers and other industry contacts. Given the inherent complexity of transactions typically involving real estate, business operations, and third-party reimbursement systems such as Medicaid and Medicare, he keeps informed about changing market conditions by actively participating in numerous industry conferences and state healthcare associations. Edwards graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis.
Gary Lyons, CCIM, SIOR, ALC, serves as Managing Director for the Sperry Van Ness affiliate office in Raleigh, NC. Lyons specializes in healthcare real esate transactions in the southeast region. Since 2005 he has completed over 25 transactions valued in excess of $75 million, including a recent nursing home portfolio sale for $17.2M. Lyons is the 2009 President for the North Carolina CCIM chapter, which is the 4th largest chapter in the US with approximately 500 members.
Lyons remains an integral part of his community. He serves on the Wake Forest Advisory Board for North State Bank and on the committee for Economic Development for the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce. Lyons is a former board member of the North Raleigh Rotary Club and the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce. He is also a 2004 graduate of the Leadership Raleigh program (Raleigh Chamber of Commerce). Lyons earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science from Duke University, and he obtained a master's degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University. He is married with two children and resides in Raleigh, NC.

Bill Reilly is a senior investment advisor and principal of Sperry Van Ness / The Group Commercial, LLC, specializing in seniors housing and long-term care in the Mountain Region. Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Reilly was a senior account executive for The Xerox Corporation, handling many of the firm’s largest accounts throughout Colorado. A seasoned real estate investor himself, Reilly’s experience within commercial brokerage includes the lease and sale of office, industrial, retail and multifamily properties. He graduated from Denver University with a degree in finance and marketing. With more than 20 years of dedication to customer satisfaction, Reilly has a proven track record for keeping his clients’ requirements as his number one priority.
Karen Baston specializes in representing owners and investors of medical office properties nationwide. A registered nurse and a former certified trauma nurse specialist, Baston brings to the Healthcare Real Estate Team a wealth of healthcare industry experience. Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, she served as a principal for kbMedical, LLC, providing management and consulting services in the following areas: electronic health records implementation, strategic management, marketing, and start-ups. Previously, Baston served as Chief Operating Officer for Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic, LLC, a regional multi-specialty medical practice. She is currently a member of the Medical Group Managers Association and the American College of Healthcare Professionals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children and husband, as well as playing golf and watching Georgia football.
Marilyn Kane serves as a managing director and principal broker for Sperry Van Ness Butler Kane LLC in New York City, New York. In addition, Kane heads up the Northeast Region of the SVN National Healthcare Team, advising owners and investors in the seniors housing market. Kane was named by Crain’s New York Business as one of “New York’s 100 Most Influential Women in Business.” Real Estate Weekly named her one of the top “100 Women Real Estate Leaders of the 21st Century.” Real Estate New York included Kane in their “2007 Women of Influence” issue. Kane served on the Board of Directors of the New York Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (NYCREW), is a member of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and Asian Women in Business (AWIB).
Sean Shanahan specializes in seniors housing investment sales and leasing throughout the northeastern United States. A resident of the Bronx, he obtained his B.S. in Business Administration from Fordham University, with a concentration in finance and a minor in economics. Shanahan has been actively involved with the Boys and Girls Club service programs in the Fordham/Belmont section of the Bronx for the past five years. Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, he served as a sales associate for HH Realty Group in New York, where he focused on the multi-family segment of the greater New York market.
